Residents will be pleased to learn that this year’s council tax will not be increased.
This has been made possible through funding from the Coalition Government. Any Council freezing council tax at 2010 levels will receive a grant equivalent to a 2.5% increase. Poole Council benefits by more than £1.7 million.
“The Council Tax freeze is not a special achievement of the Conservatives in Poole – every council in the country has made the same decision”, said Sandra Cox.
Remember the Poole Lib Dems proposed a 0% increase last year but this was rejected by the Conservatives – it wasn’t an election year!
