Over the last four years we have been working hard to address issues you have told us are important to you. Not only do these include better play areas for children and young people, safer roads and protecting our bus services, but providing affordable housing while protecting our green belt from inappropriate development.

Our children now have vastly improved play facilities in Bearwood and Merley. They also have a safer journey to school with a safer journey to school with the 20mph school safety zones around Merley First School and Bearwood Primary School. We have also saved the school bus services to Allenbourn Middle School and Corfe Hills which were threatened.

We have campaigned to protect our green belt from inappropriate development at the same time as supporting local affordable housing developments in the right places to make sure that young families have decent homes to bring up their children. We have continued to work closely with the Safer Neighbourhood Teams and Neighbourhood Watch. Anti-social behaviour has continued to fall as have overall crime levels. Merley, Canford Magna and Bearwood are among the safest places in the country to live.
