PROTECTING OUR GREEN BELT
Your Lib Dem Councillors have fought proposals to develop the open space and green belt between Merley and Bearwood.
Councillor David Brown commented: “Local Lib Dems will continue our legacy of protecting our green spaces and protected heathland and push for development on appropriate brownfield sites in the Town Centre rather than our green belt.”

FIGHTING FOR RESIDENTS
Results from the recent Shaping Poole Survey show Merley and Bearwood score best in 8 out of 10 indicators.
Ken Swash commented: “It is a real tribute to all those who have been working with the police to ensure that Merley and Bearwood remain among the safest places to live with the lowest anti-social behaviour and crime levels in Poole.”

LOCAL FACILITIES
Merley and Bearwood have historically suffered with poorer facilities being on the outskirts of Poole.
May Newman said: “Local Councillors have successfully worked for better play areas, a youth shelter, keeping our post offices, improved street lighting, bins, bus shelters, and most recently new community libraries. All essential to supporting thriving local communities.”
